Tour Alto Piemonte

Day 1

Arrival at Turin (from Turin or Milan airports) and accommodation at a hotel nearby the city center, at walking distance to the many sights and locations for the activities included in the package

The hills of Turin – The eastern side of town is dominated by the picturesque hillside known as “The hills of Turin”. Due to its privileged position, like a “terrace” overlooking the town, the hill district has always been considered as an exclusive and prestigious location by the upper class. Let’s discover this large green area of town starting from the “Villa della Regina” (the Queen’s Mansion), a baroque jewel recently refurbished and listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, alongside other “Residenze Sabaude” (the Sabaudian Mansions and Castles).

Villa della Regina is the starting point of our many itineraries amongst the greenery of the hills and in the countryside. With the help of an expert tour leader specialised in wild herbs, we will lead you through an educational itinerary to get to recognize and pick flowers and herbs from the hillside. We complete the walk with a tasting of their potential uses.

Following the common thread of the ancient time, dinner will be in one of the historic restaurants of the city, known to have have been the location of many significant events  or as a reference in the local culinary tradition.

Day 2

Culinary tradition and art made in Turin Eataly Lingotto – the first Eataly shop worldwide – was established in Turin in 2007 on the same location of the dismantled historical Carpano factory. Whenever visiting the capital city of Piedmont, this is a recommended stopover not only for food and wine connoisseurs, but also for whoever wants to understand the link which has long been existed between the local social, cultural, economic heritage and the culinary tradition. Eataly Lingotto is a place where you can have a meal and buy traditional specialties, a world where the Made In Italy food is on display, and particularly focused on Piedmont and Turin, where the business was established. At the end of the tour, it will be possible to have lunch in one of the thematic restaurants inside the premises.

Inside Turin – After a short rest, it is now time to meet the throbbing heart of town. We will lead you straight into it, by taking you to the ancient Roman district known as the Quadrilatero Romano, housing one of the most evocative places: the Santuario della Consolata. Then carrying on to a religious symbol for the many believers, the building is a masterpiece of architecture, and includes the works by Guarino Guarini and Filippo Juvarra.

There are many Happy Hour opportunities in town. However, at the end of our itinerary in the afternoon, we would like to offer you a special opportunity: a Happy Hour on the bell tower of the Sanctuary! From the top of the building, one of the most popular places in Torino’s city centre, you will try our tasty specialties.
N.B.: panoramic view of town and jazz music included.

What would you like for dinner? The traditional Merenda Sinoira, a sort of late-afternoon brunch, or a pizza? A typical Piedmontese tavern or a gourmet restaurant? This, and much more, is available in the city: we will be happy to suggest the best places to match your mood. Our proposal will never be ordinary as we want you to experience the best of our culinary tradition.

Day 3

“Vermouth” Experience – let’s discover “Vermouth” in its place of origin: this flavoured wine was invented in 1786 in Turin and has always been, since then, a protagonist of the social, cultural and economic fabric of the city. Renowned worldwide in its different variants for different uses, we will learn about it in depth with the help of one of the most celebrated experts in the field. Vermouth Experience is a workshop on the renowned Vermouth from Turin, a unique occasion to learn its secrets and history, and to just enjoy its flavor and taste. The workshop will teach you how to make your own Vermouth and how to enrich it with your favourite flavours.
