    This Roman town was the first capital of Italy and for a long time the headquarters of the Royal Savoy family and their residences. Turin is a unique city, rich in history and charm, home to many UNESCO sites. It is characterised by its self-evident noble and aristocratic identity which came to shape during its most prosperous era. Piedmont’s capital stands out for its elegance and sophistication, it is constantly transforming and renewing its artistic and cultural scenes, and its urban setting. Full of museums and monuments, home to international events, and continuous gourmet activity, Turin has found its place amongst the list of the most interesting Italian destinations for both mainstream and alternative trips, it has something for everyone!

    Piemonte, Piedmont

    Piedmont is lucky to have its geographic location: the hills, plains and mountains are equally distributed, and the Ligurian Riviera and the Cinque Terre are within reach for day trips. Just outside of Turin, heading south, find the roads leading through the famous hills of Roero and Langhe (stages included in this FAM as day tours) with their views of vineyards and castles. Wine Regions and cuisine, greenery and history, this territory preserves the most authentic and genuine Piedmontese identity. North of the capital, towards Switzerland, the mountains are reflected in the setting of Lake D’Orta and Lake Maggiore, creating a timeless atmosphere: the tranquillity and relaxation, even during periods tourist high season! The whole region is surrounded by the Alps, a natural border and ideal for those who love winter sports and walking outdoors.

    1. Day 1 Turin

      Meeting in Milano Malpensa airport and private transfer to Torino. Arrival in Torino, check-in at Turin Palace hotel and welcome aperitivo.

    2. Day 2 Turin city tour

      Morning
      Activity: Guided city tour of the city
      Torino city center. Torino city center guided tour. Along the way we will meet food shops, famous cafè, chocolate manufacturers as well as historic buildings, and the most important cultural landmarks. Light lunch in Torino city center then free time on your own.

      Afternoon
      Activity: Guided visit to the Egyptian Museum
      Visit the second most important museum dedicated to Egyptian Antiquities, in the entire world. The Egyptian Museum in Turin opened its new and fascinating exhibition in 2015 and its wonderful collection is now spread over four floors. Dinner organized in one of the nicest restaurant of the city.

    3. Day 3 Alba & Langhe

      Morning
      Private transfer to the Langhe area
      Short visit to Alba city center. Alba is the capital of the Langhe area, famous for the White Truffle Festival, Nutella and its shops.

      Activity: Truffle hunting and light lunch
      Truffle is the real King of the Langhe area, and people come from all over the world to have the chance to taste it. We give you the chance to experience a real truffle hunt and to see the special relation between the Trifolau (traditional truffle hunter) and his dog to find this hidden secret of the woods. For lunch we’ll taste truffles and local products.

      Activity: Guided visit to a Barolo winery and tasting
      Piedmont is home to 17 DOCG wines out of a total of around one hundred in Italy. It is the Region with the highest number of DOCG wines. Most of these DOCG wines in Piedmont are produced with different and indigenous grapes such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto – red grapes – or Cortese, Erbaluce di Caluso, Moscato – white grapes. Other grapes are not included in DOCG wine production but are very important and special anyway. Examples are Timorasso, Grignolino, Arneis, Freis The most interesting areas to sample wines of Piedmont are the Langhe, where they produce the famous Barolo and Barbaresco and where there are the largest number of producers, however, even Monferrato, Canavese and North Piedmont are wine areas yield excellent quality wines, emerging wineries and itineraries to discover wines and winemakers who will amaze you with the beauty of their cellars and their vineyards.     4. Day 4 Eataly & MAUTO

      Activity: Eataly guided tour
      Enjoy the temple for gourmands, the world’s first Eataly, opened in 2007.
      It is considered the starting point of the Italian food and wine revival, the pride and joy of Turin, which is always becoming more and more tempting to the tastebuds. The old Carpano factory and the birthplace of Turin’s iconic Vermouth, is nowadays a rare and precious place, where it is possible to discover the best food products from all over Italy. During the tour, you will visit the underground cellar filled with wines and artisanal beers, and listen to the many ”flavored stories” about the Gianduja and our famous chocolate. Lastly, the guide will take you to your tasting, where you will enjoy a glass of wine with cold cuts and cheeses. A tour for the real gourmand. Lunch your own at Eataly Lingotto

      Activity: Guided visit to MAUTO, National Automobile Museum
      Enjoy a guided visit of the National Automobile Museum. The museum boasts one of the most scenic scenery that allows young and old, motor enthusiasts and not, to enjoy beauty and history through a fascinating, educational and entertaining journey at the same time.

      Late Afternoon and dinner
      Activity: Vermouth Experience and dinner
      Did you know that vermouth was originally created in Torino in 1786? Vermouth Experience is a 2-hour workshop run by a leading expert of mixology. You will have the chance to smell, touch and taste some of the spices that make vermouth. At the end of our workshop we give you the chance to make your own and take it home with you! Return to the hotel and overnight

    5. Day 5 Venaria Royal Palace

      Check-out from the Hotel and transfer to Venaria
      Activity: Guided visit to Venaria Royal Estate (Reggia di Venaria)
      Visit the Royal Palace of Venaria Reale is to immerse yourself in the fascinating Baroque era: the guide will take you on a fascinating journey in which to discover habits, customs and usages of the court life of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The Reggia di Venaria is one of the UNESCO sites in the Turin area. A few kilometers from the center of Turin was founded in 1600 as a place of leisure and hunting where the kings liked to entertain in lavish banquets, elegant parties and in the hunting ritual. The full path in the Palace will take you to discover in the basement rooms, formerly warehouses and kitchens, history, curiositie and anecdotes of the House of Savoy ancestors. Lunch on your own in Venaria, then private transfer to Milano Malpensa airport.
